On Windows, I just use Gamebar or the Nvidia overlay when I want to record some gameplay. To take screenshots, I can use them, or I can use Steam by pressing F12. What will our options on the Steam Deck be? Will there be a shortcut for screenshots or Steam overlay? Is/will there be a Steam Deck native video recording? How does it work now with the big picture? Thanks!
Many people recommend using ReplaySorcerery. However, the installation process is too complicated. Therefore, it's easier to connect your Steam Deck to a Windows computer and record the gameplay on your computer screen with a screen recording program. Inbuilt tools and third-party programs are both workable. Choose the method based on your device and purpose.
🔥Method 1. Use EaseUS RecExperts(Windows/Mac)
Many people know EaseUS RecExperts as a Windows and Mac screen recorder. But it is actually a game recorder too. It is capable of recording almost all desktop games on your computer.
What's more, it records the gameplay without lag or a black screen. And you can record as long as you like. Download and install it to have a try.
✅After installing, you can connect your Steam Deck to your computer. When you see the game playing on your computer screen, launch EaseUS RecExperts and follow the steps below to start recording.
✔️Method 2. Use Xbox Game Bar(Windows)
If you have connected Steam Deck to your Windows computer and you don't want to download anything, you may try Xbox Game Bar instead. This is the inbuilt game recorder that comes with Windows 10 and later systems. Therefore, if your device meets the requirements, you may try this tool.
✅Note that this tool records only 30 seconds by default. If you are ok with this, follow the steps below to start.
