TikTok Says I'm Screen Recording but I'm Not

Alin updated on May 21, 2024 to Screen Recorder Questions and Answers

With my model of phone (Samsung A13), I do not have the feature to screen record. I have found, however, that at times, TikTok won't allow me to clear my display because screen recording was detected, but I don't have that feature, nor do I have any apps that do so. What should I do to clear my display?

If TikTok says you are screen recording, but you are not, it may be that some error occurred. Since you can't screen-record in clear mode or activate the clear mode while recording, you may try the methods below to activate the TikTok clear mode.

1. Clear TikTok cache

To clear the cache for TikTok, you need to tap Profile > 3-line icon > Settings and Privacy > Clear cache. After that, try to activate the clear mode.

2. Reinstall TikTok

You just need to long-press the TikTok app to delete it. Then, reinstall it by entering "TikTok" in the search bar of the Google Play Store and tapping "Install".

3. Turn everything in "appear on top" off

On your Android phone, navigate to Settings > Apps > More options (the three vertical dots) > Special access > Appear on top > TikTok. Then, tap the switch next to them to disable the overlay permission for TikTok.

4. Report a problem to TikTok

If you have tried all the fixes above but still can't solve the problem, report the problem to TikTok.

🌟Record TikTok Videos without Blocking the Clear Mode

You may try a third-party screen recorder if you want to screen record a video from TikTok without blocking the clear mode. We recommend EaseUS RecExperts to you. This screen recorder records the TikTok screen without being detected or notified. The only thing is that it can be used only on a Windows or Mac computer. If you are OK with this, download it right now!
