Can I Use a Capture Card with Only One Monitor to Record Nintendo Switch?

Rel updated on May 10, 2024 to Screen Recorder Questions and Answers

It's just treating my monitor like a TV and displays a full-screen Nintendo Switch. I have no access to my mouse, and it's not in window mode. If I plug the capture card in as directed, the switch takes over my monitor completely with no access to the PC. What am I doing wrong?

Of course, you can use a capture card with only one monitor to record Nintendo Switch on your PC. In your description, your recording tool seems to be not allowing you to change the recording mode.

💡To solve the problem, you can try the steps below:

  • Step 1. Unplug the capture card first.
  • Step 2. Then open your recording tool to set Partial Recording mode.
  • Step 3. Choose the Switch window to record it specifically.

As for game recording, I'd like to talk more about it. I suggest you use EaseUS RecExperts to record Nintendo Switch gameplay. It is a professional recording tool, supporting both Windows and Mac. With this recording software, you can switch footage with hotkeys you set, which is very suitable for recording Nintendo Switch and previewing it with only one monitor. You can choose a specific window for recording and operating other things out of the region.
