Hi! Audacity is one of the best free and open-source audio recording software worldwide. It can capture nearly any sound that is playing on a computer's sound card. As a result, Audacity can record streaming audio, including the soundtracks of streaming video files.

Below are the simple steps to complete the task (take Windows OS as an example):

Step 1. Open the streaming audio on your computer, and launch Audacity.

Step 2. Click Start > System > Sound to set up the computer audio.

Step 3. Click Audio Setup > Host > Windows WASAPI.

Step 4. Go back to the main interface and hit on the Start button to initiate the audio recording and play the streaming audio.

As you see, Audacity can capture streaming audio, but the process is a little complicated. And there will be sound quality loss as the original digital signal is converted to analog and back into digital again. Considering these factors, I highly recommend an alternative to Audacity to help you do audio recording tasks. And that's EaseUS RecExperts.

This tool allows you to record streaming audio from any site, including Spotify, Pandora, and more, and there will be no quality loss. Besides, the whole task can be done within 2 simple steps. Most importantly, you can choose to export and save the recorded audio files in your desired format, so that you can enjoy them on any device!
