Screen Recording Failed to Save Due to Asset Writer Failing to Save

Question

I'm trying to use the built-in screen recording feature to record the Home app on iPad. Ideally, I could record the system's internal audio, but it won't record any audio unless I turn on the microphone (which records the speakers). Any time I turn on the microphone, no matter how short the duration, I get the following error: screen recording failed to save due to asset writer failing to save. Any ideas on how I can get this to work on iPadOS/iOS 16.3.1?

If you want to record your iPad screen and save the recording without an error, you need to turn off the microphone recording.
