If Windows Media Player is not playing WAV files on your Windows 10 computer, it may be that it lacks the codec to play your file.

So the first solution is to enable automatic download of codecs by going to Windows Media Player > clicking Tools Options > Player Automatic updates > checking the Download codecs automatically option > clicking OK.

The second solution is to play the WAV file with a Windows Media Player alternative - EaseUS RecExperts. This is a multimedia player that can play WAV files on Windows 11, 10, 8, 7. Download it to play your WAV files right now!

The best thing is that it can adjust the playing speed. 0.5x, 0.75x, 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 2.0x are all supported. You can even trim the audio file to remove unnecessary parts if you want. Not just WAV format, AVI, FLAC, MP3, and OGG are all supported.

Check how to play your files on Windows 10 successfully:

Step 1. Launch EaseUS RecExperts and click "Recordings" in the lower left corner.

Step 2. Click "Import" on the bottom right corner. It allows you to import a WAV file or a folder.

Step 3. Click the "Play" button to enjoy your WAV audio file at different playback speeds.
