Hi! It's because of the DRM protection!

HBO Max is one of the streaming services whose video content is protected by the DMR. And that means you cannot record anything from it. If you insist, you will find there is nothing in your recording except for a black image. Aside from HBO Max, a screen recording in other apps (Netflix, Hulu) just comes out like a black screen.
