The answer is yes. It is possible to use OBS record mp3 as long as you make some settings. Here is the tutorial about how to make OBS record as MP3:
- Step 1. Add audio Scene and Source in Scenes and Sources by clicking the + icon.
- Step 2. Navigate to Settings > Output > Output Mode, and select Advanced.
- Step 3. Choose the Recording option and select Custom Output (FFmpeg) in Type.
- Step 4. In the FFmpeg Settings tab, choose Container Format as MP3. Later, click on OK.
- Step 5. Hit on the Start Recording button in the OBS interface to record audio as MP3.
